I am Laura Clute, an artist and designer based in Independence, MO. I offer affordable design services for individuals, small businesses and organizations as an alternative to costly design firms and ad agencies. I provide a broad range of conceptually-creative visual solutions, regardless of media, with communication and functionality trumping “high design”.

personal style

I am both a graphic designer and a fiber artist. Skills from one studio continually influence and strengthen the other. While some cannot see the relevance between the two fields, my expertise in multiple fine arts gives me a distinctive artistic style and a variety of creative solutions.

I love organization and simplicity. Starting with a clean and basic layer, my fiber art experience drives me to turn a flat surface into a dynamic three-dimensional space. My personal graphic style is constantly energized with interacting layers of text, images, and textures.

In fiber studio art my surface design processes consist of coloring, patterning, and structuring fibers and fabric. I constantly push myself to explore depth and texture. Experience in digital technology and graphic design continues to take me in new directions within fiber art.
